About the plant :

Helichrysum italicum is, along with basil, one of our nation’s favorite medicinal and fragrant plants. Smilje worships the sun. It grows all over the Mediterranean coast. It likes dry climates, rocky areas, sandy soil with good drainage, so growing immortelle on fertile Vojvodina arable land is not recommended. The plant has grayish small leaves and golden-yellow flowers with a beautiful, unusual, intense fragrance that comes from an expensive essential oil. For centuries, it has been used in traditional medicine as a medicine for the liver, against colds, for strengthening the body and maintaining beauty.

About the product :

Immortelle essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the plant in flower. Distillation must be done within 24 hours of picking, which is one of the reasons why this oil is expensive. Another reason is its small amount in the plant (less than 0.05%), so that from a hectare of planted immortelle, about 7 liters of essential oil can be obtained annually. This oil is a complex mixture of esters, terpenes and monoterpene alcohols. Varieties of oils that are rich in italodiones are most appreciated.

Method of use :

• Vaporizer – pour 3-5 drops of essential oil into a bowl of water.
• Steam inhalation – pour 4 drops of oil into a container with 1 liter of boiling water, cover your head with a towel and inhale for 5-8 minutes
• Dry inhalation – pour 2, 3 drops of essential oil on a tissue and inhale the vapors deeply.
• Massage – mix 15 drops of immortelle oil with 100 ml of almond oil, shake well and use for facial massage in the evening. This serum is applied to wet skin and is especially recommended for mature skin, as well as for the prevention of wrinkles.

Contraindications :

Smilje is an extremely safe and non-toxic plant. Do not use immortelle essential oil undiluted. Not recommended for pregnant women.
