100% pure essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation of plant leaves
About the plant :
Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) is a very well-known and valued medicinal plant in our region. Its basic action is of a calming nature, so it is mostly recommended as a natural sedative for almost all types of nervous disorders, primarily nervousness, anxiety and depression.
It is not known whether the ancient peoples cultivated lemon balm for its medicinal properties or for the abundance of nectar it offers to bees. Be that as it may, they soon discovered the valuable qualities of the broodstock. Arab doctors in particular understood the power hidden in this plant. They were the first to call it “herb for the heart” (it strengthens it, calms the palpitations, removes anxiety). They also declared it a “grass for cheerfulness”, suitable for strengthening all vital abilities, effective against “black thoughts”, anxiety, headaches caused by nervous tension and memory loss.
Our old beekeepers know very well, and with the help of a queen bee in an archaic, very interesting way, they return a swarm of bees that escaped to a tree. And the householders gather and beat their hands with leafy sprigs of lemon balm to release the smell of lemon balm, throw water and earth and sing folk verses:
,,Mat’, mat’, mato,
come back to us
Our dear mother,
Come back to us mate…”
About the product :
Lemon balm essential oil is obtained by hydrodistillation of our organically grown lemon balm. Careful care during the growing season, the moment of harvesting the plant and distillation leads us to a product with a high terpene content that gives a therapeutic quality to our oil. Our goal is to have two swaths of lemon balm in one season, and we time the first swath and distillation in order to obtain essential oil, geranial phenotype, and the second to obtain essential oil of swath, citral phenotype.
